"1,2,3, Mais Uma Vez" retrata, de forma experimental, um conjunto de sessões mediadas pela música, no contexto de programas terapêuticos com Pessoas com Doença de Alzheimer. Estas intervenções integravam o trabalho da Equipa da Área de Dia em Psicogeriatria, serviço criado pelo Doutor Pedro Macedo, do Centro Hospitalar Psiquiátrico de Lisboa (2013). À realidade humana das sessões juntou-se, de forma inclusiva, a possibilidade de devaneio, expressa num menos corporativo trabalho de imagem e som.
Filmado em 2013, no Centro Hospitalar Psiquiátrico de Lisboa, no contexto dos programas terapêuticos com Pessoas com Doença de Alzheimer, integrados no trabalho da Equipa da Área de Dia em Psicogeriatria.
"1,2,3, Once Again" depicts, in an experimental way, a number of sessions mediated by music, in the context of therapeutic programs with People with Alzheimer. These interventions were part of the work carried by the team of the Day Area in Psychogeriatrics, created by Doctor Pedro Macedo, in the "Centro Hospitalar Psiquiátrico of Lisbon" (2013). To the human reality of the sessions the film adds, in an inclusive way, the possibility of daydreaming, by a less corporative work on sound and image.

Vasco Diogo nasceu em Lisboa em 1970. É licenciado em Sociologia pela Universidade Nova de Lisboa, mestre em ciências sociais pela Universidade de Lisboa e doutorado em Ciências da Comunicação pela Universidade Nova de Lisboa, com a tese: "Video: especificidade, hibridismo e experimentação "(bolsa de estudos da FCT, 2008).Desde 2008 é professor na Universidade da Beira Interior, ensinando principalmente direção de cinema, novos cinemas e cinema experimental.Depois de ser co-fundador do Projecto Teatral, trabalha desde 1998 em performance, videoarte e cinema experimental em torno de temas como auto-apresentação, verdade e manipulação. No cinema experimental ganhou vários prêmios internacionais (mais de vinte), especialmente com o filme: "antiviralvlog anexperimental - o filme remix #!". Mostrou os seus trabalhos em várias exposições e festivais em Portugal, Espanha, Itália, EUA, Canadá, Índia, Alemanha, França, Chipre, Polónia, etc.
Vasco Diogo was born in Lisbon in 1970. He has a degree in Sociology by Universidade Nova de Lisboa, a master degree in social sciences by Universidade de Lisboa and a PhD in Communication Sciences by Universidade Nova de Lisboa, with the thesis: "Video: specificity, hybridity and experimentation"(scholarship by FCT, 2008). Since 2008 he is a professor at University of Beira Interior teaching mainly cinema directing, new cinemas and experimental cinema. After being co-founder of Projecto Teatral, works, since 1998 in performance, video art and experimental cinema around themes such as self-presentation, truth and manipulation. In experimental cinema he has won several international awards (more than twenty), specially with the film: "anexperimentalviralvlog - the movie remix # !". He has shown his works in several exhibitions and festivals in Portugal, Spain, Italy, USA, Canada, India, Germany, France, Cyprus, Poland, etc.

28 anos, com formação ao nível do secundário em Artes do Espetáculo – Interpretação – onde ganhou interesse até então nas artes de interpretação, principalmente teatro e cinema. Desde essa altura tem feito várias formações nas áreas da escrita criativa, interpretação, improvisação e caracterização. Hoje, enquanto animadora Sociocultural no Centro de Apoio social do Pisão onde trabalha com adultos com problemas de saúde mental, utiliza o teatro como estratégia terapêutica para trabalhar competências de socialização, concentração, pensamento crítico, respeito pelo outro, integração grupal, auto-confiança e, acima de tudo, a qualidade de vida.
RITA LUZ
38 anos, psicóloga clínica, com pós-graduação em técnicas e metodologias expressivas, a experiência oa nível das artes do espetáculo dá-se nas áreas da dança, com algumas incursões ao nível da interpretação em televisão e publicidade. Mentora de projetos de dança e expressão corporal, no contexto comunitário e junto de pessoas portadoras de deficiência, tem utilizado as técnicas expressivas como ferramenta de intervenção, inclusão e desenvolvimento pessoal e social. Atualmente, realiza estágio profissional como psicóloga, onde encontra nas expressões um veículo previligiado de intervenção com adultos com patologia psiquiátrica.

'An Improvised Reality' is a self-reflexive ethnographic film produced in collaboration with Creative Support. It follows the weekly rehearsals of the 'Breakthrough' drama group for individuals with different types of learning disabilities.
JOÃO MEIRINHOS
João é cineasta etnográfico e pesquisador. Ele tem trabalhado para várias organizações socialmente engajadas com foco em justiça social e consciência ambiental desde 2007 - usando ferramentas audiovisuais para acionar o intercâmbio cultural e mediar o diálogo entre as pessoas. Desde 2011, ele desenvolve um projeto de cinema itinerante movido a energia solar, patrocinado pela ONG italiana Bambini Nel Deserto. Com 'Cinema du Desert' ele teve a possibilidade de viajar e trabalhar na África Ocidental e na Ásia Central. Um mestrado em Antropologia Visual com a Universidade de Manchester levou-o a realizar trabalho de campo na Amazônia peruana que culminou no documentário "Espelho do Espírito" (a primeira parte "Afluentes" foi muito bem recebida em festivais etnográficos em todo o mundo). Desde então João tem trabalhado entre o Reino Unido, Hong Kong e Lisboa como freelancer audiovisual.

João is an ethnographic filmmaker and a researcher. He's been working for various socially engaging organisations focusing on social justice and environmental awareness since 2007 – using audiovisual tools to trigger cultural exchange and mediate dialogue between people. Since 2011 he developed a solar powered itinerant cinema project sponsored by Italian NGO Bambini Nel Deserto. With 'Cinema du Desert' he has had the possibility to travel and work in West Africa and Central Asia. An MA in Visual Anthropology with the University of Manchester led him to undertake fieldwork in the Peruvian Amazon that culminated in the feature documentary ‘The Mirror of the Spirit’ (the first part 'Afluentes' was very well received in ethnographic festivals world wide). Ever since João has been based between UK, Hong Kong and Lisbon as a audiovisual freelancer.

O documentário Autismo como um presente é um testemunho sensível dos pais de um menino autista de nove anos, Ángel. Eles olham para a "deficiência" ou "peculiaridade" do filho de uma perspectiva diferente da maioria da sociedade, para eles é um presente. Oportunidade de autoconhecimento e autoeducação. Ángel é sua inspiração e um ótimo professor. Muitos voluntários vão à casa deles para passar algum tempo com o Ángel, com base nos princípios do Programa Son-Rise®. É um método que não é tão conhecido e difundido na República Checa. Seu objetivo não é desenhar uma criança autista em nosso mundo, mas sim unir seu próprio mundo primeiro. Enquanto seus pais e voluntários mergulham em seu misterioso mundo autista, Ángel lentamente abre o portão e entra em nosso mundo em troca. Todos concordam que Ángel tem um sexto sentido que revela as feridas internas de todos que trabalham com ele. Podemos nos perguntar quem é a pessoa afetada e quem é voluntário? Quem ajuda quem? The documentary Autism as a gift is a sensitive testimony from the parents of a nine-year-old autistic boy Ángel. They look at their son´s "disability" or "peculiarity" from a different perspective than most of the society, to them it is a gift. Opportunity for self-knowledge and self-education. Ángel is their inspiration and a great teacher. Many volunteers go to their house to spend time with Ángel based on the principles of the Son-Rise Program®. It is a method that is not so well known and widespread in the Czech Republic. Its goal is not to draw an autistic child into our world, but rather to join his own world first. As his parents and volunteers dive into his mysterious autistic world, Ángel slowly opens the gate and enters into our world in return. Everyone agrees that Ángel has a sixth sense that reveals the inner wounds of everyone who works with him. We can ask ourselves who is the person affected and who is a volunteer? Who helps whom? Is it Ángel or the person who is with him in the room?

Growing up in Liverpool Football Club’s 1970’s heyday, 10-year-old Jay and his best friend Sean spend their days playing football in the backstreets of marginalised Liverpool, gripped by the rise of celebrity footballer Kevin Keegan. When tragedy strikes, it changes their lives forever. We follow Jay’s journey as he returns home after 25 years and explore the ramifications of childhood trauma into adulthood.
Stephanie is an award winning writer/director/producer. Her first short film MARIGOLDS achieved festival and critical success, screening at over 25 festivals and events worldwide. Having received rave review in Little White Lies, MARIGOLDS was acquired and broadcast on BBC HD SHORTS, won Best Director at Underwire Film Festival and nominated for Best Screenplay, as well as being a finalist for Shooting People's film of the month. Her films have been chosen as Rankin's Collabor8te and Hunger.tv’s film of the week and SHORTS ON TAP, WOMEN IN REVOLT SERIES in 2015/16. Her films have been curated for various online platforms including Filmdoo and Indieflix.
She was BAFTA shortlisted in 2014 for her short film DAWN starring Edward Hogg (Taboo, Jonathan Strange & Mr. Norrell, Jupiter Ascending, Indian Summers) and Keeley Forsyth (Happy Valley, The Casual Vacancy, Guardians Of The Galaxy). DAWN is her second short film and draws upon the themes of her upcoming feature, IN OUR BLOOD. DAWN screened at festivals worldwide.
Stephanie’s latest short film, BEING KEEGAN, which stars BAFTA nominated Stephen Graham (Taboo, This Is England, Boardwalk Empire, Pirates of The Caribbean). It has garnered in-kind support of BAFTA and OSCAR winning post-production teams at Peter Jackson’s Park Road Post, Company 3 and Rushes and also secured Stephanie a PIA PRESSURE NEW VOICES Award. BEING KEEGAN’s trailer was released to astounding success and off the back of its potential secured additional completion funds from TEMPLEHEART FILMS. The trailer was also selected by AWARDEO and FILM SHORTAGE for trailer/campaign of the week, INDIEWIRE’ Project of The Week and shortlisted for the SCREENCRAFT Short Film Production Award as well as receiving a Danish Decibel Arts Fund.
Stephanie was chosen for the Branchage Director's Lab and is a member of Director's UK. She has forged a successful career as a First Assistant Director currently repped by Screen Talent Agency and a Promo Producer working with top tier artists and talent over the last 8 years from Goldfrapp, Sam Smith and Little Mix and Esther May Campbell to Jamie Thraves. Stephanie is now focussed on moving exclusively into development and production of her own projects as a filmmaker.
Stephanie is currently in development on her debut feature IN OUR BLOOD which has been awarded development funding by the British Film Institute (BFI). The script reached the semi-finals of the SHORE SCRIPT competition out of 2500+ entries and the project has been selected for this years BFI/Birds Eye View FILMONOMICS scheme.

Como produtor, as recentes produções de Carver foram exibidas no Festival de Cinema de Atlanta, no Festival Internacional de Cinema de Rhode Island, no Festival de Cinema de San Diego, no DC Shorts Festival e no Festival Internacional de Cinema de Estocolmo. A college student struggles with a leg injury and the strange way that people react to it.
Carver recently completed an MFA with a Creative Producing concentration at Columbia University's film program in New York. "Break a Leg" is Carver's second film addressing mental health. As a producer, Carver's recent productions have screened at the Atlanta Film Festival, Rhode Island International Film Festival, San Diego Film Festival, DC Shorts Festival and Stockholm International Film Festival. Carver has worked in film and television since 2009 working on various projects including, “The Colbert Report”, “How to Make it in America”, “Curb Your Enthusiasm”, “Men in Black III”, “Person of Interest”, "Anchorman II" Amazon’s “Alpha House" and the upcoming Showtime mini-series "Escape at Dannemora." He most recently worked in Development at Amazon Studios in their half-hour development group. He also works part time at The Screenwriters Colony, a non-profit screenwriting lab where he coordinates the episodic comedy Colony held every June.

Documentary about musical creation project constituted by patients with schizophrenia. This project results from a partnership established between the Nova Aurora Association in Psychosocial Rehabilitation and Reintegration, the Cultural and Recreational Association of the Technology of Health of Porto and the Psychosocial Rehabilitation Laboratory of ESS / FPCEUP, aiming at the production and use of music as tool to combat stigma in relation to people with mental health problems.

Em 2001 viu a sua obra estrear no Up And Coming Film Festival (Alemanha) e posteriormente ser adquirida pela Mircocinema International (EUA), iniciando a um percurso por festivais internacionais de cinema, passando ainda pelos principais canais de televisão portugueses e assinando a realização de um dos maiores sucessos de bilheteira da década.
Born in 1980, he is a professor of higher education in the fields of visual studies, video and cinema. Director and producer of film and television, his body of work covers creations ranging from experimental to documentary, through fiction, animation and commercial cinema. As the story unfolds it becomes apparent that his range of intricate routines have been compounded by a succession of deaths in the family. Now, with only his twin sister left, Marty has found himself seeking to finally, once and for all, dispel the urges and paranoia that drive the compulsions which are seriously affecting his life – and, in his mind, stop his sister from dying.

Having received a Diploma in Art and Design from Ravensbourne College Lucy decided to follow a path towards theatre, graduating from Rose Bruford College with a degree in Theatre Stage management. This progressed into a career in theatre and drama school education spanning 12 years, teaching her how to interact with actors on and off set to build relationships and get the best performance possible.
After many years of working in this area, and having the opportunity to work with some incredible artists such as Brian Cox, Fiona Shaw, Alan Rickman and Jeremy Irons, Lucy heard the siren call of film and decided to leave everything behind to study for an MA in Fiction Directing at Edinburgh University.
Graduating with a distinction, her graduate short film “Lucid” was nominated for “Best Drama” at BAFTA NEW TALENT AWARDS 2016 and has been shown at several festivals. Since then Lucy has gone on to work on a further 5 features films in a variety of roles focused on production and direction.
Taking inspiration from the likes of Park Chan-wook, Mary Harron and Jim Jarmusch her style focuses on highlighting the beauty within darker subject matter through the visual composition of the scene and sensitive directing of the actors to build an empathic link to the audience.

She lives in Chicago with her husband and her seventeen-year-old geriatric Yorkie, Roxy.

Per Sundström has worked as lighting designer, composer, musician and film editor but mainly as supervising sound editor at Chimney, Sweden’s leading film post production companies, where he also designed all the sound studios including a film mixer. Educated at Stockholm Academy of Dramatic Art and has worked with over 100 films. Awarded for the sound on ”Let the right one in”.

Tanya Leahy is a visual artist and filmmaker based in Montreal. Over 70 million people are estimated to be living with an eating disorder, and that number continues to grow. They have one of the highest mortality rates of any psychiatric illness, driven by poor nutrition and associated health outcomes and exponentially higher rates of suicide.
Like many mental illnesses, eating disorders are misunderstood and grossly underestimated.
This is not a lifestyle choice. Unfortunately, a lack of empathy and understanding has stigmatised eating disorders. Greater understanding can improve prevention and early identification, and could also encourage sufferers to seek help earlier and more often.
We don’t speak about eating disorders so we let the disorder speak for itself.
Focusing on the power of audio, Iridescent places the user in the position of someone with a lived experience, hearing their thought processes, experiencing their anxiety, with the goal that understanding breeds empathy, and in turn, more support for those in need.
Iridescent is the first of its kind to use virtual reality to specifically address the mental struggle of eating disorders.

His film and video projects have been screened at numerous venues, including the Museum of Modern Art in New York, the New York Film Festival, the Toronto International Film Festival, the Full Frame Documentary Festival, the London Film Festival and the Whitney Biennial Exhibition. His recent project, A Disaster Forever, was in the 2015 New York Film Festival. His 16mm film, The Birdpeople, is in the collection of the Museum of Modern Art. Gitlin was the recipient of a Guggenheim Fellowship in 2006. His work has also been supported by the Jerome Foundation, the New York State Council on the Arts, and the New York Foundation for the Arts. Gitlin received an M.F.A. from Bard College. Nascida em Luanda (Angola) a 13 de Outubro de 1987, Ana Lúcia Carvalho mudou-se para Lisboa em 2005 e iniciou o curso de Arquitectura na Escola Superior de Artes do Porto (ESAP). Depois de um ano o seu interesse pela Literatura e pelo Cinema falava mais alto e no 2007/2008 começou a frequentar Cinema, Vídeo e Comunicação Multimédia na Universidade Lusófona, um diploma concluído em 2011.
Em seu último ano, foi uma das co-autoras do curta-metragem “Quando os Monstros se vão embora” (2010) - http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1773639/ -, um projeto financiado pelo ICA , dirigido por Bernardo Gramaxo e orientado pelo professor Jorge Paixão da Costa. Este curta-metragem foi seleccionado para festivais nacionais e internacionais e ganhou vários prémios, nomeadamente o 2º lugar do Prémio ZON em Criatividade e Multimédia (categoria curta), e o prémio Sony HD Schools APM.
Em 2010, começou a trabalhar como roteirista freelancer e trabalhou em vários projetos de ficção televisiva, como: A Família Mata (seriado, 2010-11), Maternidade 2 (série, RTP 2011), Dancin 'Days (telenovela, SIC 2011/12 ), Sinais de Vida (telenovela, RTP 2013), Sol de Inverno (telenovela, SIC 2014), Os nossos Dias 2 (telenovela, RTP 2015), Poderosas (telenovela, SIC 2016) e O Sábio (telenovela, RTP 2016). Foi também autora de mais de vinte episódios da longa série Bem-Vindos a Beirais (RTP 2013-16).
Em 2016, concluiu um mestrado em Estudos da Comunicação, com especialização em Comunicação, Cinema e Televisão, na Universidade Católica Portuguesa. Como mestre final, produziu, dirigiu e escreveu o roteiro de um curta-metragem - “The Stone” - uma adaptação de “The Dragonfly”, conto do escritor angolano Ondjaki.

In 2010, she started working as a freelancer scriptwriter and worked in several television fiction projects such as: A Família Mata (sitcom, 2010-11), Maternidade 2 (series, RTP 2011), Dancin 'Days (telenovela, SIC 2011/12), Sinais de Vida (telenovela, RTP 2013), Sol de Inverno (telenovela, SIC 2014), Os Nossos Dias 2 (telenovela, RTP 2015), Poderosas (telenovela, SIC 2016) and O Sábio (telenovela, RTP 2016). She was also author of more than twenty episodes of the long-running series Bem-Vindos a Beirais (RTP 2013-16).
In 2016, Ana concluded a master’s degree in Communication Studies, majoring in Communication, Film and Television, at the Portuguese Catholic University. As a final master project, she produced, directed and wrote the screenplay for a short film – “The Stone” - an adaptation of “The Dragonfly”, a short story by the Angolan writer Ondjaki.

'Quando' discute a experiência do cineasta com a doença mental e como isso afetou sua percepção do mundo ao seu redor. Concentra-se principalmente na Anorexia Nervosa, Ansiedade e Depressão. Destina-se a representar essas idéias de uma forma artisticamente abstrata, mas honesta - usando o CGI como um meio para criar uma experiência impactante que fará o público pensar sobre a doença mental de uma maneira que não poderia ter antes.
Deanna Crisbacher é uma estudante americana que estuda Artes de Animação Computacional BA (Hons) na Universidade de Artes Criativas, Rochester. Depois de morar em New Jersey (EUA) até os 16 anos, ela se mudou para o Reino Unido e estudou Arte A-Level, Têxtil e Estudos de Negócios na Anglo European School. Em seguida, ela fez o curso de Belas Artes no programa da Fundação no UCA Canterbury antes de ingressar no curso de Artes Visuais em Artes (BA) no campus da UCA em Rochester. Sua paixão e entusiasmo pela criação de arte e filmes permitiu-lhe ter sucesso em seus estudos.
Ela gosta de criar histórias impactantes e significativas que provocam a audiência a pensar de maneiras que elas não podem ter antes, ao mesmo tempo em que ampliam os limites de suas habilidades. Ao criar filmes e obras de arte, ela experimenta novas técnicas inovadoras para criar algo único. O principal objetivo da maioria de suas obras de arte e filmes é fazer com que os espectadores reflitam sobre uma variedade de assuntos, especialmente tópicos que são mais difíceis de discutir.
'When' discusses the filmmaker's experience with mental illness and how it has impacted her perception of the world around her. It mainly focuses on Anorexia Nervosa, Anxiety, and Depression. It aims to represent these ideas in an artistically abstract but honest way - using CGI as a medium to create an impactful experience that will make the audience think about mental illness in a way they might not have before.
Deanna Crisbacher is an American student studying BA (Hons) Computer Animation Arts at The University for the Creative Arts, Rochester. After living in the New Jersey (USA) until the age of 16, she moved to the UK and studied A-Level Art, Textiles, and Business Studies at Anglo European School. She then pursued Fine Art at the Foundation program at UCA Canterbury before progressing onto the BA (Hons) Computer Animation Arts course at UCA’s Rochester campus. Her passion and enthusiasm for creating art and films has allowed her to succeed in her studies.
She enjoys creating impactful, meaningful stories that provokes the audience to think in ways they may not have before while simultaneously pushing the boundaries of her abilities. When creating films and artwork she experiments with new, innovative techniques to create something unique. The main aim of most of her artwork and films is to get viewers to reflect on a variety of subject matter, especially topics that are often more difficult to discuss.

Whisper Rapture é um documentário de música e saúde mental sobre a jornada do violoncelista e vocalista Bonfire Madigan Shive, de jovens traumatizados a músicos virtuosos e ativistas pioneiros em saúde mental. Suas experiências ao longo da vida com ouvir vozes e desespero suicida são transpostas para o pop avant-garde, música de câmara influenciada pelo punk e uma cultura de cura progressiva que transcende as patologias restritivas da psiquiatria convencional. In Spring 2017, he directed Who We Are, a short film about life in the Heroin Belt of Southern California. He is a Bridge Arts and Science Alliance Grant recipient. Nicholas’s research interests include poetic cinema, immersion, animation, and film editing. Throughout his career hopes to explore diversity through interfacing with directors from around the world to share a broader spectrum of the human experience.
